**Overall Responsibility:** The Data Analyst is responsible for transforming data into meaningful, actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across the organization. The Data Analyst also supports data governance, documentation, and continuous improvement of analytics practices across the enterprise. **This role is to be hired in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.** **Duties:** **Requirements Gathering & Business Analysis** - Gather, analyze, and document business and reporting requirements, translating them into actionable analytical solutions. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational needs across fundraising, program delivery, finance, and executive decision-making. - Support the development and refinement of KPIs, metrics, and dashboard definitions for consistent decision-making. **Data Analysis, SQL Development & Exploration** - Design, develop, and maintain SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, analysis, and validation. - Write complex SQL queries across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and other data sources for reporting and analysis. - Conduct trend analysis, root-cause analysis, and deep-dive investigations to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities. **Reporting, Dashboards & Visualization** - Design, build, and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, WebFOCUS, or similar tools. - Prepare and present analytical insights, summaries, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Provide guidance to business users on dashboard usage and interpretation to support data-driven decisions. **Data Quality, Validation & Issue Resolution** - Perform data profiling and quality assessments to ensure completeness, consistency, and integrity. - Ensure report accuracy through validation, reconciliation, testing, and documentation practices. - Monitor and troubleshoot issues impacting reports or data, coordinating with technical teams as needed. **Documentation, Governance & Continuous Improvement** - Maintain organized documentation for queries, reports, logic, and data sources to ensure transparency and knowledge transfer. - Use version control tools like GitHub to manage and collaborate on analytics assets. - Identify automation opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and consistency. - Support data governance standards related to documentation, data usage, and stewardship. - Perform additional duties and special projects aligned with analytics and reporting priorities. **Education and Experience:** - Bachelor's degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. - Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, or related analytics role. - Hands-on experience working with relational databases and writing complex SQL queries to support analysis, reporting, and data validation. - Experience developing dashboards and reports in Power BI, WebFOCUS, Tableau, or similar BI/reporting tools. - Experience performing data profiling, validation, and reconciliation to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy. - Working knowledge of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and common data structures used in reporting and analytics environments. - Experience collaborating with business stakeholders to define reporting requirements, KPIs, and analytical deliverables. - Exposure to data wareho…
