Customer Associate, Registry- Rotating Shifts

Ingalls Memorial Hospital | Registrations, Referrrals, Authorizations | Registry | Rotating Shifts Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, **UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital** as a **Customer Associate** at our **Family Care Center** in **Flossmoor.** This position is a **100% onsite opportunity**. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. As a Customer Associate you will perform general reception duties which includes checking patients in and out, telephone message retrieval and routing, updating demographic, insurance information, general filing, and maintenance of medical charts. **Essential Job Functions** - Receives and discharge patients, including, but not limited to: greeting, enter accurate demographic and insurance verification, updating information, collection of payments, issuing receipts, notification of clinical staff - Performs clerical duties, including but not limited to: scheduling, typing, form completion, photocopying, faxing, mail sorting, filling, maintenance, and preparation of medical chart - Received incoming calls, routing to appropriate party, and takes messages according to department protocol or needs of customer. Receives cash and other payments, reconciles balances at end of shift. Makes bank deposits as requested - Files and retrieves medical records from storage areas as requested and according to department procedures and policy. **Required Qualifications** - High school diploma or equivalent - Experience in the basic computer software programs - Demonstrated ability to develop others in areas of continuous process improvement, and customer service - Delivery and self-directed team work - Moderate typing skills (minimum 30wpm) **Preferred Qualifications** - 1 to 2 years experience in health care setting - Insurance and collections experience **Position Details** - Job Type/FTE: Registry, .1 FTE - Shift: Rotating - Work Unit: Onsite - Unit/Department: Family Care Center, Flossmoor - CBA Code: Non Union ### About the Company *We’ve been at the forefront of medicine since 1899.
