Custodian - PT - Fri-Tue 10pm-3am (45432)

The Custodian staff maintains airport facilities by performing cleaning and upkeep tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and presentable environment. **Essential Functions** - Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and fixtures. - Dusts, cleans and polishes furniture, doors, windows, partitions, woodwork, light fixtures and other related surfaces. - Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, waxes, polishes floors, and shampoos carpets. - Disposes of trash and recyclable materials. - Operates power cleaning equipment such as buffer, sweeper, and steam cleaning equipment. - Performs some limited routine maintenance to equipment, buildings, and fixtures. - Professionally communicate over two-way radio, telephone, and email. **Additional Responsibilities** - Assists in monitoring supplies and stocking locations. - Maintains good rapport with the public, Airport tenants and other agencies. - Adheres to the Authority and departmental policies and procedures as well as safe work practices, policies and procedures. - Develops and maintains effective working relationships with other staff, public officials and general public. - Performs other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** - Hight Schol diploma or equivalent - Strong work ethic, be able to complete work independently, work at a consistent pace. - Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures; knowledge of cleaning materials, chemicals, and solvents; knowledge of the care and maintenance of cleaning equipment. - Good interpersonal communication skills. - Attention to detail oriented. **Must- Have Requirements** - Must be at least 18 years old. - Must wear uniforms provided (uniforms must be clean and presentable) and personal protective equipment. - Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays when required. - Successfully pass continual training, security and employment requirements - Must possess acceptable English language skills to include speaking, reading, writing and comprehension. - Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance; stoop, kneel and crouch or crawl. - Must be able to use hands and fingers to type, handle bags, boxes, objects or controls. - Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift up to 99 pounds with assistance. - Vision abilities include, with or without corrective lenses, close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. - Sufficient auditory ability, with or without audiological devices, to decipher telephone/radio communications, interact with the public and others, decipher radio communications, and hear alarms, including vehicle and other warning signals. - Able to tolerate exposure to noise levels up to 90 decibels - Able and willing to work in inclement weather, including extreme cold and warm temperatures.
