The schedule for this position will be Saturday - Wednesday, 4 p.m. - 12 a.m. The wage for this role is $16/hour. Serve as a job coach teaching custodial job readiness skills to participants. The Custodian should have the heart of a servant in accordance with Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Key Tasks and Responsibilities - Perform daily cleaning operations, including light building maintenance, general repairs and monitoring of cleaning supply inventory. - Perform routine facility inspections to ensure a clean, orderly and safe environment. - Oversees the daily workflow of vocational team participants while supporting and directing participants in learning custodial skills for job readiness. - Be prepared to pray with and offer spiritual support to others. Other Duties - Attend quarterly All Staff meetings. - Job performance should demonstrate The Rescue Mission’s Core Values; Organizational Integrity, Organizational Unity and Organizational Effectiveness. - Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Education Training and Experience - High school diploma or GED. - Experience using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions. - Minimum of three (3) years of custodial experience required. - Previous training or job coaching experience preferred. Knowledge Skills and Abilities - Basic computer skills with knowledge of internet and email. - Knowledge of standard cleaning methods, products, procedures and equipment. - Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules. - Ability to teach and model a high standard of cleanliness. - Communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work well alone or as a member of a team. - Ability to train/coach participants in custodial job readiness skills. - Time management skills. - Completion of Trauma Informed Care training. - Ability to solve problems through a team approach. - Ability to work with individuals of various socio-economic, ethnic, and racial populations. - Ability to comply with personal and business requirements and expectations as detailed in the Employee Handbook.
