Custodian

**Essential functions and responsibilities:** - Performs general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies - Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies - Empties trash receptacles, hazard bins into a hazard barrel, disposes trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal - Ensure common areas such as break rooms, lobbies, and kitchenettes are cleaned and stocked - Maintain breakroom - Follow instructions about chemical use and safety hazards in the workplace - Wash and buff floors including the manufacturing facility - Ensure cleaning materials and supplies are stored safely and orderly - Maintain, submit a purchase requisition, and restock cleaning materials and supplies - Make note of the need for equipment repair - Report any potential food safety, quality or food defense concerns to the plant manager or quality personnel - Maintain product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality systems - Follow all documented **G**ood **M**anufacturing **P**ractices - Must follow all company policies and procedures **Essential skills and experience:** - Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment - Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies - Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade - Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects - Ability to understand written and verbal instructions - Other duties as required **Success factors/job competencies:** - Proficient at time management - Ability to work with little supervision - Good attitude **Physical demands and work environment:** - ***Considerable physical activity.
