Turn away from the computer screen and face the person you are conversing with. - Explain any potential delays in service and provide frequent updates. - Empathize (feel empathy for someone) **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** - Performs diagnostic CT procedures on patients utilizing ionizing radiation producing equipment; - Acquire patients' chart data/requisition and reviews both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study and verify that the study being ordered - Verifies the patients' demographic data is correct in all applicable systems; - Checks and prepares patients prior to CT study; - Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation; - Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations; - Performs VNA punctures as necessary and maintains competencies; - Maintains all aspects of the CT area to ensure proper quality assurance results. - Knowledgeable in acquiring, archiving, transmitting, and printing images - when applicable; - Observes potential equipment dysfunctions and reports problems to appropriate individuals; - Maintains available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility; - Will have responsibilities for supplies, equipment operations and related duties; - May assist with scheduling of patients as needed; - Works under the scope of practice and in accordance to certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of technical equipment; - Follow all health care privacy and safety rules and adheres to Dayton Physicians Core Values; - Other duties as assigned. **Supervisory Responsibilities:** Not applicable **Required Education and/ or Experience:** - Requires a High school diploma; - Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology; - Certification in CT; - Requires 3- 5 years previous CT experience; - CPR certification required. **General Skill Requirements:** - Excellent oral and written communication - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook. - Experience working with a…
