Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a full-time Crisis Triage Specialist (CTS) to join our dedicated Crisis Services team and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment in our 24/7 Walk-In Clinic (WIC). As a CTS, you’ll play a vital frontline role, conducting brief assessments (including CSSRS and SAFE-T), evaluating incoming referrals, assisting with placement to our Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) or higher levels of care, and connecting clients to appropriate resources. You'll be part of a statewide initiative that supports individuals in mental health, substance use, or emotional crisis, contributing to a fast-paced, client-centered team that delivers critical care. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and compassionate, with strong crisis response and de-escalation skills, the ability to work independently, and a deep commitment to supporting individuals in acute need. **Available Shift.** This position is fully on-site working 4 - 10 hour shifts. - Overnight, Wednesday - Saturday 8:30 pm - 7:00 am **Shift Differential Pay.** The Day weekend shift differential is paid from 7 am to 3 pm on Saturdays and Sundays only; the Swing shift differential is paid from 3 pm to 11 pm; and the Overnight shift differential is paid from 11 pm - 7 am - Day Weekend (Sat, Sun): $1.50/hour - Swing Weekday (Mon-Thurs): $1.50/hour - Swing Weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun): $2.75/hour - Overnight Weekday (Monday - Thursday): $2.75/hour - Overnight Weekend (Friday, Saturday & Sunday): $4.00/hour **Salary for this role.** The starting wage is based on experience and company equity. Paid bi-weekly. - $22.04 - $33.07 **Bilingual Language Differential Pay.** Employees who successfully pass a language assessment are eligible to receive bilingual differential pay. This differential is provided as a fixed amount of $3,000 per calendar year, paid on a bi‑weekly basis across 26 pay periods, and prorated based on hire date and full‑time equivalency (FTE). Eligibility and payment are subject to the language requirements of the position and the employee’s demonstrated proficiency in the language. **Essential Functions:** - Act as the first clinical contact for walk-in clients. Greet the client and support the completion of initial paperwork. - Assess the client using the CSSRS Safe-T criteria. Ask brief evaluation questions and consult with the Crisis Therapist for next steps. - In instances when the client qualifies for a full crisis assessment evaluation by the Crisis Therapist, provide referrals and/or resources, or assist in placement to the CSU or to other higher-level care options. - In instances when the client does not qualify for a full evaluation by the Crisis Therapist, the CTS will complete the client’s treatment at the WIC by providing referrals and/or resources to the client. - Maintain the flow and response to faxed-in referrals from other community partners, including gathering faxed-in referrals, passing referrals to available Crisis Therapists for timely review, and, when appropriate, responding to the outside partner for feedback after a determination of placement. - Monitor activity of all clients in the WIC, maintaining the calm atmosphere of the waiting area. - Develop and maintain a daily safe therapeutic environment and support other team members in the WIC. - Completes all necessary paperwork in a timely and comprehensive manner to establish accurate acute care clinical records. Keep all appropriate documentation for clinical accountability and reimbursement. - Engage in weekly individual, team, and group supervision as required by the program manager. Engage in mandatory all-staff meetings for the full team of crisis services as required by the program manager. - Assist in immediate clinical response to clients including de-escalation, connection to medical help, and providing comfort items such as snacks, water, blankets, etc. - Participate in other clinical and administrative activities as appropriate. **Requirem…
