A study of some of the fundamental concepts and process skills common to most elementary programs. **Posting Dates:** July 15 - 28, 2026 **Application Deadline:** July 28, 2026 **CL Credits:** 3 **Number of Positions Available:** 1 (This course is not team-taught.) **Term:** Fall 2026 **Contract Dates:** August 17 - October 8, 2026 **Course Dates:** August 31 - Sep 24, 2026 **Schedule:** Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 5:30 PM - 8:45 PM **Location:** Gesgapegiag Travel, taxi/mileage, accommodation and per diems are covered by the Office for instructors who require it. **Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):** **Education** - A Master’s degree (in exceptional circumstances applicants without a Master’s degree but with significant research or professional experience related to the course content may be considered) **Experience** - Expert knowledge of course content as outlined in the course description - Knowledge of the Quebec Education program (QEP) and the curriculum of the partnering school board with whom this course is being giving in collaboration. - Familiarity with the 13 professional competencies specified in the Ministère de l’Éducation - Knowledge of the impact of colonialism on Indigenous communities and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion. - Experience as a teacher, administrator, or consultant in the partnering school system for which this course is being delivered. - Experience teaching in the Quebec elementary school system - Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers. - Previous successful experience teaching similar courses in Indigenous communities. - Experience developing curriculum, instructional approaches and/or policy grounded in Indigenous knowledge and pedagogies. Other - Adherence to evolving program requirements concerning course content and program-developed competencies; course content and references must reflect the most current advances in the field. - The course instructor is expected to demonstrate capacity and willingness to modify the course to the educational, social, and cultural context of the community in which it is being delivered. - Availability to participate in course coordination and planning activities prior to the course start date (approximately two weeks in advance; online format). - Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with Indigenous issues in First Nations and Inuit contexts, for example through prior teaching, community engagement, or relevant academic or professional work. - **Additional Information:** Effective dates of appointment are **August** **17 - October 8, 2026**.
