Topics will vary and be chosen from a range identified by instructors and students. **Posting Dates:** July 14 - 28, 2026 **Application Deadline:** July 28, 2024 **CL Credits:** 3 **Number of Class Hours:** 39 **Number of Positions Available:** 1 **Term:** Fall 2026 **Contract Dates:** August 17 - October 8, 2026 **Course Dates:** August 31 - September 25, 2026 **Schedule:** 3 nights: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 6:00- 9:15 **Location:** Kahnawake **Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):** **Education** - A Master’s degree (in exceptional circumstances applicants without a Master’s degree but with significant research or professional experience related to the course content may be considered) **Experience** - Expert knowledge of course content as outlined in the course description. - Knowledge of the Quebec Education program (QEP) and the curriculum of the partnering school board with whom this course is being giving in collaboration. - Familiarity with the 13 professional competencies specified in the Ministère de l’Éducation - Knowledge of the impact of colonialism on Indigenous communities and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion. - Experience as a teacher, administrator, or consultant in the partnering school system for which this course is being delivered. - Experience teaching in the Quebec elementary school system - Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers. - Previous successful experience teaching similar courses in Indigenous communities. - Experience developing curriculum, instructional approaches and/or policy grounded in Indigenous knowledge and pedagogies. **Other** - Adherence to evolving program requirements concerning course content and program-developed competencies; course content and references must reflect the most current advances in the field. - The course instructor is expected to demonstrate capacity and willingness to modify the course to the educational, social, and cultural context of the community in which it is being delivered. - Availability to participate in course coordination and planning activities prior to the course start date (approximately two weeks in advance; online format). - Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with Indigenous issues in First Nations and Inuit contexts, for example through prior teaching, community engagement, or relevant academic or professional work. **Additional Information:** Effective dates of appointment are **August 17 - October 8, 2026**.
