Counter Sales Rep w/CDL B License (with hazmat)

Maine Oxy is looking for a hard-working, hands-on **Counter Sales Rep** to join our shop in Hermon, ME. The Counter Sales Representative serves as an Inside Sales Rep and a backup Class B Driver. When you are in the store you will help provide product knowledge and technical expertise to our customers. Occasionally you will be asked to use your Class B CDL (with HazMat endorsement) to drive and deliver our cylinders and hardgoods to customers. **What You’ll Be Doing Inside the Store:** - Put safety first. Always. - Help customers at the counter—answer questions, solve problems, and get them what they need - Learn the products so you can give solid advice (don’t worry, we’ll train you) - Pitch in wherever needed—this is a team shop - Handle basic paperwork and keep things organized - Step up and help run the store when the manager’s out - Work with regular customers and build good relationships - Help price out jobs, put together quotes, and support the sales team - Fix issues when they come up—keep customers happy - Stock shelves, label products, and keep the place looking sharp - Help set up displays, assemble equipment, and even show customers how things work **What You’ll Be Doing as a Backup Class B Driver:** - Drive a delivery truck (up to 20-ton) on a set route - Deliver gas cylinders and supplies to customers - Pick up empty cylinders - Complete basic paperwork for deliveries - Perform truck safety checks - Use forklift/pallet jack when needed **The Perks:** - Full-time, steady work (no seasonal layoffs) - Monday–Friday schedule, about 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (your nights and weekends are yours) - Solid benefits: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and 401(k) - Company-paid short-term disability! - 401(k) match—50% of what you put in, up to 6% - Store discounts - Paid time off right off the bat (up to 120 hours/year, plus carryover time) (prorated first year) - Paid holidays - 6 weeks parental leave + paid maternity leave after a year of employment - Reimbursement for work pants and boots ***Maine Oxy is an Equal Opportunity Employer*** **What We’re Looking For:** - Someone reliable who shows up ready to work - Good with people and not afraid to talk shop - Willing to learn and get your hands dirty - Team player with a strong work ethic **What Helps (But We Can Teach You):** - Experience with welding or industrial gases is a big plus - Any kind of sales or customer-facing work - Familiarity with tools, equipment, or shop products - Comfortable using a handheld device (we use Zebra scanners—easy to learn) **Basic Requirements:** - High school diploma or equivalent - 1 year of driving experience or driving school training in the past 4 years. - Class B CDL with HazMat endorsement and airbrakes (or ability to obtain HazMat endorsement within 60 days of hire). **What the Job Is Like (Physical Stuff):** - You’ll be on your feet a good part of the day—some sitting, some standing, lots of moving around - Lifting is part of the deal—anywhere from 25 up to 75 lbs now and then. #zr
