Cost Accountant

**Summary of the Role:** The Cost Accountant is responsible for maintaining the cost accounting system. Must incorporate the understanding of manufacturing operations with generally accepted accounting practices to support the company’s vision. This position will take direction with general supervision from the Controller and will require interaction with all levels of the organization. **Tasks and Responsibilities:** - Review and post daily manufacturing accounting entries. - Review cost and variance trends; research significant variations and recommend appropriate response. - Prepare daily operating performance analysis; including inventory movements, sales, and cost of goods sold, to identify significant issues in a timely fashion. - Review new BOMs and Routers submitted for cost freeze for accuracy. - Perform monthly inventory valuation and reconciliation of cost ledgers. - Evaluate and approve cost review requests, including operating impact analysis. - Process CAPEX requests, track spend progress and capitalize assets as required. - Perform data analysis using reporting tools as required to perform job duties or as requested by management staff. - Perform relevant data management tasks. - Prepare and monitor operating forecasts based on budget. Review significant variations and analyze operating impact. - Establish labor and overhead rates in line with operating budget. - Perform annual cost roll and inventory revaluation.
