## Description Dietary Cooks are to prepare and serve palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals at proper temperatures and appropriate times and support properly sanitary techniques being utilized. Dietary Cook Performance Standards: - Prepares and directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders. - Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved. - May carve and apportion food for serving and may assist in serving duties. - Keeps a requested list of supplies weekly and anticipates ahead to avoid extra trips to the store. - Responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen when on duty, and shall be responsible for the care of all equipment. - Performs cleaning duties in kitchen and food serve areas as scheduled, etc. as directed. - Prepares and delivers snacks and nourishments as ordered by the Nursing Department. - Ensures Dietary Department complies with established standard and personal hygiene and health standards for personnel. #GAJC ## Requirements - Completed High School diploma or GED/HSE Certificate. - Previous experience in Food Services preferred. - Experience in long-term care or a related field is preferred. - Consent to and pass a pre-employment drug screen and required background checks.
