**Job Title:** COOK (Full-time)- BOOM!HEALTH **Job Summary:** The responsibility of the Cook is to prepare congregate meals for any one of our nine congregate meal programs at our eight service locations in Manhattan and Bronx. He/she reports to the Lead Chef. **Primary Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:** - Execute detailed assigned menus, using ingredients as directed by the Lead Chef. - Prepare assigned meals in compliance with New York City Department of Health food safety regulations. - Wash and clean pots after prepping and cooking food - Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of all primary recipe ingredients including, but not limited to: washing, coring, paring, and slicing of ingredients. - Up-hold and ensure that kitchen aids follows food safety/sanitization requirements. - Supervise weekend meal preparation and kitchen duties. - Communication with manager on site for weekend issues and/or meal changes. - Participate in interdepartmental meetings intended to enhance program service delivery. - Other responsibilities as assigned. **Qualifications/Criteria:** - New York State Food Handlers Permit are required. - Must have a minimum of two years in food preparation and cooking. - Ability to work independently and under time-constraint pressures. - Good supervisory skills. - Flexible. Ability to work with a diverse client population. - Good interpersonal skills and communication. - Available to from 12:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturdays **Education:** - High School graduate
