## Description **Job Summary:** The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food items in a fast-paced convenience store kitchen environment. This position ensures food is prepared quickly, safely, and consistently according to company recipes, food safety standards, and customer expectations. The Cook maintains a clean and organized kitchen, monitors inventory, and assists customers as needed while delivering high-quality grab-and-go and made-to-order food items. **Key Responsibilities:** The Cook is responsible for producing safe, fresh, and appealing food products while maintaining efficient kitchen operations. Duties include: - Prepare hot and cold food items according to established recipes and portion guidelines - Cook food using grills, fryers, ovens, warmers, and other kitchen equipment - Ensure all food products meet quality, freshness, and temperature standards - Monitor food holding times and properly label and rotate products (FIFO) - Maintain appropriate food temperatures to comply with food safety regulations - Prepare ingredients by slicing, chopping, mixing, and portioning - Set up and stock food prep stations at the beginning of each shift - Clean and sanitize food prep areas, equipment, utensils, and surfaces - Follow all health department and company food safety standards - Assist with receiving, stocking, and storing food and supplies - Monitor inventory levels and notify management of shortages - Follow opening and closing kitchen procedures - Provide friendly customer service when interacting with guests - Assist store team members as needed during busy periods **** **** **** **** **Qualifications:** **Skills & Abilities** - Knowledge of food safety standards and safe food handling practices - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment - Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately - Strong time management and organizational skills - Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely (fryers, grills, ovens, slicers, etc.) - Basic math skills for measuring and portioning - Team-oriented with a positive attitude - Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds - Dependable and able to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends
