If you're looking for a workplace with a supportive team, appreciative residents, and opportunities to grow your career, Cascades at Riverwalk may be the right fit for you. **What you'll do:** - Follows recipes and prepare meals that correspond to the menu cycle - Cooks or prepares palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in institutional quantities according to census and diet type, that are served at proper temperatures and at proper times - Adjusts food quantities according to the needs of residents to prevent over/under production of food - Serves meals on time - Keeps a clean and organized work area - Prepares and maintain a supply of food substitutes to accommodate resident's choice and preferences - Assists Dietary Manager in preparations for inspections and state surveys - Follows facility policies and procedures for infection control at all times - Other duties as necessary and assigned. **What we offer:** - Competitive hourly pay based on experience - 401(k) with company match - Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options - Generous paid time off (PTO) - Up to **$500 per month** in nursing school tuition reimbursement **What we're looking for:** - Current Food Handlers Permit - ServSafe Certification is preferred - Ability to read, speak, and understand English - High school diploma or equivalent - One plus years' experience working in a commercial kitchen - Experience cooking in a skilled nursing facility a plus **Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:** - Exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases - Full range of body motion including handling and lifting objects - Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. unassisted - Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time - Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met - Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility **Why us:** Our Cooks care for a geriatric population that depends on consistent, knowledgeable, and compassionate care.
