We continually strive to value staff, support diversity, and promote excellence and personal choice in the provision of consumer care. **We are seeking Cooks for** **our Assisted Living Facility located in Suffolk, VA** **Responsibilities and duties for Cook:** - Coordinate and supervise food service preparation for residents. - Manage a wide range of dietary restrictions. - Manage USDA feeding programs - Performs housekeeping activities as needed. - Clean kitchen daily. Requisition cleaning supplies as necessary through Program Manager. - Assist in safety and sanitation inspections as directed. Launder common-use items as necessary. - Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe, sanitary food handling practices. - Estimate anticipated food consumption and assist with purchasing, storage, and set-aside of food supplies as directed. - Recordkeeping and accounting as it relates to food service - Safeguards the civil rights of the individuals and the confidentiality of an individual’s data. - Completes required documentation to Agency, licensure, and Medicaid standards. - Attends staff meetings and in-service training as required. - Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager, Administrator, or Director. **Qualifications and Skills for Cook:** - The successful candidate must have a high school diploma (or GED certificate), - Certified Food Protection Manager, preferred - Two (2) years direct care in the residential program is preferred.
