**Job Title:** Continuous Improvement Technician **Division:** Precision Pulley and Idler (PPI) **Location**: Lenox, IA - On-site **Shift:** 1st **Grade:** 3 **Travel Required:** 0-5% **F** **LSA:** Non**-**Exempt **Job Status: Full-Time** **Reports To:** Plant Manager **PURPOSE OF POSITION** Supports manufacturing operations through the implementation and sustainment of continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, quality, productivity, and workplace organization. This position assists with the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of improvement solutions while supporting production operations as needed. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** *The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.* - Partner with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Safety teams to identify improvement opportunities, develop solutions, and support the implementation and sustainment of process improvements. - Assist with the design, fabrication, implementation, and optimization of workstations, material flow systems, and workplace organization solutions. - Implement and sustain continuous improvement initiatives including workplace organization, visual management, standardized work improvements, material flow improvements, waste elimination, and mistake proofing solutions. - Fabricate, modify, install, maintain, prototype, and test workstations, fixtures, carts, racks, visual controls, and other improvement solutions. - Safely operate fabrication equipment, hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment as required. - Assist with training employees on updated processes, procedures, and work instructions resulting from improvement initiatives. - Perform production support duties as assigned to meet operational requirements while supporting continuous improvement objectives. - Regularly participate in additional training related to the job. **QUALIFICATIONS** *To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.* - Experience participating in continuous improvement, workplace organization, Lean manufacturing, or related manufacturing improvement activities preferred. - Experience using hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication equipment. - Ability to read basic drawings, layouts, sketches, and work instructions preferred. - Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely construct and install improvement solutions. - Prior experience in production and/or manufacturing preferred. - Demonstrate the ability to participate in a positive and engaged team atmosphere. - Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. - Ability to read, write, and speak English to properly understand and relay important safety and quality information. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen, ask questions, and communicate respectfully with coworkers and management. - Must be able to take initiative and work independently at times. - Needs to be reliable and open to a flexible schedule. - Strong computer comprehension capabilities, including Word, Excel, and various PPI system applications. **EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS** - High school diploma or a general education degree (GED); or - Two to three years’ related experience and/or training; or - Equivalent combination of education and experience. **TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES** - Valid state driver’s license - Forklift license - Ability to obtain PPI Weld Certification **COMPETENCIES** *To perform this position successfully, individual should demonstrate the following work competencies:* - **Safety and Security** - Observes safety and securit…
