Continuous Improvement Technician

**Job Title: Continuous Improvement Technician** **Location: Salem NH** **Purpose of Position:** The Continuous Improvement Technician supports manufacturing operations by driving process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. This role is well-suited for an early-career professional who is eager to take ownership of improvement efforts. The technician will work closely with small, cross-functional teams and will be expected to independently lead select improvement activities. Direct engagement with shop floor operators is essential to identify opportunities and implement practical, sustainable solutions. **Essential duties and/or Functions: (Essential Functions/basic job duties that must be able to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation):** • Support and drive daily continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing environment • Observe production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste • Partner directly with shop floor operators to identify improvement opportunities and develop solutions • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to production performance, quality, and downtime • Lead small-scale improvement initiatives and contribute to larger Kaizen events • Take ownership of assigned projects from identification through implementation and follow-up • Collaborate in small, cross-functional teams to implement and sustain improvements • Develop and maintain standard work instructions and process documentation • Facilitate basic root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) • Track and report progress of improvement initiatives to stakeholders • Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards on the production floor **Required Minimum Qualifications: (Minimum/Basic level of qualifications needed to perform the essential functions of the position, i.e. education,licensure or any measurable and job-related experience):** • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred • 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or a related environment • Foundational knowledge of or strong interest in Lean Manufacturing principles • Willingness to learn and apply tools such as 5S, standard work, and root cause analysis • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word) • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with team members at all levels, including shop floor personnel **Preferred/Desired Skills or Experiences: (Characteristics/Skills/Experiences that are not required but are preferred):** • Exposure to Lean concepts through coursework, internships, or certifications • Experience working in a manufacturing or production setting (even part-time or internship) • Demonstrated initiative or experience leading small projects (academic or professional) • Familiarity with basic data tracking or reporting • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to influence without authority • Problem-solving and analytical thinking • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment • Reliability and strong work ethic *This job description is not intended, and should not be construed, to be an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts or working conditions associated with this job.
