Job Title: Consultant Cardiologist Grade: Consultant Location: West Midlands Working Hours: Full-time, 10 PAs (with flexibility for part-time applicants) Salary: £105,504 – £139,882 per annum Overview This Trust is seeking a dynamic and committed Consultant Cardiologist to join our expanding team of six cardiologists. This new post supports the development of state-of-the-art services, with future plans for a CMR service. Requirements Full registration and licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC) Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Cardiology (or within 6 months of interview) Relevant postgraduate qualifications and Fellowship of a Royal College (e.g., FRCP) Typical Job Plan A standard job plan includes: 1 day/week dedicated to the new diagnostic centre 1 day/week for sub-specialty activity (e.g., stress echo, myoview, or other interests) 1 in 7 weeks as “Cardiologist of the Week” – focused on inpatient care, ED support, and weekend ward rounds (Saturday and Sunday mornings) Outpatient clinics: Typically 11 follow-ups (telephone) or 3 new + 6 follow-ups (face-to-face) On-call rota: 1 in 7 weekends (Friday–Sunday) and fixed weekday on-call (not prospectively covered) About the Department A team of six consultant cardiologists, supported by specialist nurses and technicians Services include general cardiology, CTCA, echocardiography, and myoview imaging Strong collaboration with radiology and regional centres for advanced imaging and interventions The department is committed to work-life balance, innovation, and continuous professional development About the Hospital A small, friendly, and ambitious organisation serving the local population.
