Construction Equipment Diesel Field Mechanic – Omaha, NE Job Type: Full-time Location: Field-Based Job Description We are seeking a skilled Construction Equipment Diesel Field Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered construction equipment. This position involves both shop and field work, with a strong focus on compact track loaders. Responsibilities - Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues - Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, filters, lubrication) - Repair or replace engines, hydraulic systems, and other components - Inspect equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation - Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot problems - Maintain accurate service records and repair logs - Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper performance - Follow all safety regulations and company procedures - Communicate with supervisors and operators regarding equipment status Qualifications - High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred) - Proven experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment - Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics - Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment Preferred Qualifications - Experience with brands such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Kubota, or Takeuchi - Extensive experience with compact track loaders - Welding and fabrication skills - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities - Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements - Ability to lift 50+ lbs - Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions - Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces Work Environment - Shop and field service environments - Exposure to noise, dust, grease, and heavy equipment - May require overtime, weekends, or on-call work Pay & Benefits - Competitive pay (based on experience) - Health, dental, and vision insurance - 401(k) retirement plan - Paid time off and holidays Apply Now If you’re a dependable mechanic with strong diagnostic skills and experience in construction equipment, we encourage you to apply today. 7/1/26
