**Comptroller – Full Time – Sheridan, MI** Full time Comptroller role in Sheridan, MI * * * **Location:** Sheridan, MI (serving Montcalm County and surrounding communities) **Organization:** Sheridan Community Hospital **Department:** Administration **Employment Type:** Full time * * * **Accounting Leadership** We are seeking an experienced and strategic **Comptroller –** to lead and optimize our hospital's revenue integrity and reimbursement functions. This leadership role is responsible for planning, directing, and improving revenue cycle operations while ensuring accurate financial reporting, reimbursement optimization, and compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations. The Comptroller –partners closely with executive leadership to strengthen financial performance, oversee revenue analytics, improve coding and billing processes, and develop reimbursement strategies that support the organization's long-term financial sustainability. * * * **About Sheridan Community Hospital** Sheridan Community Hospital is a critical access hospital committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care close to home. Our Accounting team plays a vital role in our facility. * * * **Comptroller Responsibilities** - Responsible for creating monthly financial statements for the hospital and subsidiaries. Creates reports for Board, Administrator, and Management. Develops and creates other financial reports as requested by departments and Administrator. Balances and documents all general ledger accounts for external auditors. - Responsibilities include maintaining an adequate internal control structure and procedures for financial reporting and assessing the effectiveness of the internal control structure and procedures for financial reporting. - Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture built on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. - Promote transparent financial reporting for executive leadership, managers, and the Board of Directors. - Maintain expertise in revenue cycle systems, chargemaster management, medical billing, and related business applications. * * * **Financial Reporting & Analysis** - Prepare monthly revenue financial statements for the hospital and affiliated entities. - Develop financial reports and dashboards for executive leadership, department managers, and the Board. - Collaborate with the Finance and Accounting teams to reconcile general ledger accounts and support external audits. - Analyze reimbursement trends and recommend strategies to improve financial outcomes. * * * **Accounting Integrity & Compliance** - Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer requirements, HIPAA regulations, and all applicable federal and state laws. - Monitor reimbursement changes and implement process improvements as regulations evolve. - Support managed care contracting, reimbursement analysis, contract negotiations, appeals, and alternative payment methodologies. * * * **Why This Role at SCH** - Supportive, team-oriented work environment focused on collaboration - Meaningful role supporting patient care, nutrition, and overall safety * * * **Benefits You Can Count On** Full Time benefits package available based on eligibility: - Paid Time Off (PTO) - Paid Holidays - 401(k) with employer match - Tuition/Continuing Education Reimbursement - Employee Health Hospital Discount * * * **Apply Today** Join a team that values compassion, quality, and community-centered care.
