GENERAL SUMMARYrnUnder the general supervision of the AVP of Compliance, the Compliance Coordinator provides a wide range of support to the credit union for various regulatory compliance and risk management initiatives and responds to questions relating to lending, marketing, and deposit regulatory compliance inquiries. The Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and upholding policies and procedures that are in line with the credit union's established risk appetite and that meet federal and state laws and regulations. This role requires close collaboration and effective communication with various levels of business line employees and management within the organization.rn rnMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (in descending order of importance)rnrnAssists with conducting research of business line regulatory-related requests/matters (i.e., practices, regulation updates, etc.), and provides accurate guidance for business line support.rnAssists with the review of all advertising and marketing material for compliance with UDAAP, state and federal regulations and requirements.rnResearches and analyzes potential risks, impacts and solutions related to regulatory changes, or to new or modified products and services.rnCreates and maintains an updated regulatory and compliance dashboard for reporting to the internal Risk team.rnAssists with exam and audit management functions.rnAssists with tracking and ensuring the remediation of self-identified or exam/audit corrective action items. rnAssists with education/training requirements for the organization on mandated Regulatory Compliance, and other compliance topics, as necessary.rnAssists with the member complaint process to help detect and correct potential causes of unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts and practices (UDAAP).rnPerforms other related compliance and risk management duties as assigned by AVP, Compliance or SVP, GC & CRO.rnrn rnQUALIFICATIONS:rn rnEducationrnBA/BS degree in related field preferred.rn rn rn rnExperience/Skills/Knowledge:rnrn1 to 3 years' of recent and relevant experience in a financial institution regulatory compliance and/or legal compliance role.rnDemonstrated knowledge of and practical experience with credit union or other financial institution operating areas, functions, products and services and the laws and regulations which apply to credit unions required.rnMust have excellent analytical ability and ability to conduct thorough research, interpret and understand laws and regulations, and provide workable recommendations and solutions to problems. rnAbility to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and show adaptability to changing priorities in an efficient and effective manner required. rnThe ability to work with all levels of credit union staff and members required. Must have strong service orientation in alignment with the credit union's mission and core values.rnExcellent organizational and problem-solving skills required. Must have the ability to take ownership of work product and consistently deliver results.rnExcellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills required.rnAbility to deal with highly confidential information.rnPC proficient, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the Internet as well as other spreadsheets and financial analysis programs. rnAbility to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
