## Overview The Compliance & Risk Coordinator supports the organization's financial and operational integrity by administering vendor compliance, insurance documentation, and organizational compliance programs. This position is responsible for ensuring vendors and contractors meet company compliance requirements, maintaining accurate compliance records, monitoring insurance documentation, identifying opportunities to improve internal processes, and implementing standardized compliance procedures. Working closely with Finance, Operations, Human Resources, Facilities, and other departments, the Compliance & Risk Coordinator helps strengthen internal controls, reduce organizational risk, and support compliance initiatives across Belmont Park and affiliated company properties. ## Description **Ready to be the person who keeps Belmont Park running smoothly and protected? As our Compliance & Risk Coordinator, you'll be the go-to expert behind the scenes - making sure every vendor who steps onto our properties is fully insured, fully documented, and fully compliant. You'll work directly with brokers, vendors, and internal teams, using sharp judgment to catch issues before they become problems and to keep contracts moving without a hitch. If you love the challenge of chasing down details, solving insurance puzzles, and help improve our daily operations then this role puts you right in the middle of the action.** **Insurance & Certificate of Insurance (COI) Review** - Review Certificates of Insurance (COIs) submitted by vendors and contractors for accuracy, coverage limits, and compliance with contract requirements. - Understand the company's insurance requirements in depth and troubleshoot issues when vendor coverage falls short, identifying the gap and the path to resolution. - Track insurance expiration dates and Additional Insured endorsements, and follow up proactively ahead of renewal deadlines. **Vendor & Broker Communication** - Communicate directly with insurance brokers, vendors, and contractors to request, clarify, and correct compliance documentation — applying critical thinking to resolve each situation individually rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all process. - Partner with Accounts Payable and Operations to confirm vendor compliance status before payments are issued or work is authorized. **Vendor Compliance & Contract Coordination** - Review vendor compliance files — COIs, W-9s, business licenses, and contracts — for completeness and accuracy. - Coordinate contract approvals, routing agreements for internal review and signature and confirming required compliance documentation is on file. - Ensure all required documentation is complete and approved before any vendor begins work on-site. - Protect the company from financial and liability exposure by blocking uninsured or non-compliant vendors from starting work. **Compliance Program & Audit Support** - Maintain compliance calendars for licenses, permits, insurance renewals, and regulatory filings. - Maintain organized, audit-ready records, and support internal and external audits by supplying documentation and responding to requests. - Recommend process improvements and help develop standardized compliance procedures and SOPs. - **Risk Administration** - Monitor and document vendor-caused property damage, and support related insurance claims and cost-recovery efforts. - Prepare reports on compliance trends and opportunities to reduce financial and operational risk. **Additional Duties** - Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Finance. - Support special projects and compliance initiatives as business needs evolve. ## Requirements · **Physical Requirements:** 1. Able to stand/walk up to eight hours at a time. 2. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 + pounds at times.
