## Overview Community Engagement Specialists (CES) spend part of their time staffing the front desk to answer questions, assist with problem‑solving, and connect residents to resources. However, much of the role takes place throughout the shelter, as CES move across the site to facilitate activities and events, support daily operations, and stay engaged with residents of the shelter. Because the work happens across the entire shelter environment, CES spend substantial amount of time outside and must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions. ## Description **Essential Responsibilities** - Connect community members and shelter residents with programs, services, and resources, including staffing the Community Center Front Desk. - Plan, facilitate, and support Community Engagement events, classes, meetings, groups, and activities, including driving the Esperanza Shuttle - Integrate volunteers and interns into Community Engagement programming as needed - Collaborate closely with other organizational departments and service providers to share information and coordinate support - Develop and maintain strong relationships with partner organizations; track outreach, communication, and follow-up tasks - Manage donation inventory and organization - Monitor and support accurate documentation in HMIS/Apricot - Participate in team meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration - Perform other duties as assigned **Supervisor** - Community Engagement, Team Lead **Compensation** FLSA status: Non-Exempt $24.84/hour (Annualized $51,675.00) +5% if fully bilingual in Spanish or ASL **Employment Status and Schedule** 1st Shift: W- SA 8:30 am-6:30 pm Full-Time, 40 hours/week Shift differential of +10% compensation for hours worked between 7pm-7am weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays **Location** Onsite: 760 Bastrop Hwy SB Austin, Tx 78741 **Benefits offered to Full-Time Employees** Medical, Dental, Vision Group Term Life (employer paid), Life Insurance Buy Up, Short and Long Term Disability, Critical Illness, Accidental Flexible Spending Account Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Paid Time Off Paid Holidays Paid Parental Leave Paid training and professional development opportunities 401K Plan TOOF is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to embracing diversity.
