## Description **Position Closing Date: 07/31/2026** **Full-Time = 40 Hours/Week** **GENERAL SUMMARY** Under limited supervision, the CDS Supervisor - Acquisitions provides daily oversight and direction to CDS Acquisitions Assistants, coordinating workflow priorities, assigning work, and supporting acquisitions operations, including receiving, ordering, and material processing as needed. The position collaborates with Collection Development Services (CDS) and other departments to manage special projects, monitor workflow progress, and ensure efficient movement of materials. The CDS Supervisor - Acquisitions participates in collection development and maintenance activities, partners with branches and departments to maximize merchandising and promotional opportunities in physical and digital spaces and supports reader’s advisory and programming initiatives. The CDS Supervisor - Acquisitions analyzes circulation, demographic, and acquisitions workflow data to identify trends and recommend process improvements that enhance productivity and service delivery. In the absence of the Collection Development & Acquisitions Manager, the CDS Supervisor - Acquisitions may serve as the department’s person-in-charge. **JOB REQUIREMENTS** *Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required include:* - Knowledge of principles, theories and concepts of library science, and collection development. - Knowledge of the library’s integrated automated library system as it pertains to collection development. - Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills for handling special projects and complex department operations. - Skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with co-workers, customers, community leaders, vendors, union officers and/or representatives of other agencies. - Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to integrate organizational priorities, meet deadlines, and achieve objectives. - Ability to demonstrate proficient use of personal computer software or systems applicable to the essential functions of the job, which may include (but not be limited to) email/calendar software, internet/intranet browsers, word processing, spreadsheets, database software, and various systems or software used by CCPL - Ability to apply advanced organizational, problem solving and analytical skills. - Ability to accurately organize and maintain paper documents and electronic files. - Ability to demonstrate superior verbal and written interpersonal skills and customer service skills. - Ability to detect errors, determine causes, and make corrections as appropriate. - Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions, including the ability to successfully prioritize both emergency and non-emergency issues. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS** - Complies with Cuyahoga County Public Library’s policies, rules, guidelines, procedures, requirements, standards, and practices applicable to the job, including (but not limited to) work scheduling and attendance, customer service, use of Library property, computer use, personal conduct, and confidentiality. - At the direction of the Collection Development & Acquisitions Manager. Coordinates with branches and other departments to maximize merchandising and promotional opportunities in both physical and digital spaces. Optimizes collection development opportunities to assist staff in reader’s advisory and book discussion programming. - Conducts data analysis using vendor tools as pertains to circulation and diversity, equity, and inclusion metrics as well as demographic data regarding communities served. Collects statistics on acquisitions workflow, suggests efficiencies to improve productivity. - Maintains up-to-date knowledge of acquisitions and collection development practices and developments in the field by studying professional literature and attending related meetings, workshops and conferences. - Assists…
