At Martin Sprocket & Gear, we’re dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings with excellence, and we're looking for skilled **CNC Shop Supervisors** like you! **What You'll Do:** - **CNC Operation:** Set up full production cycle and operate CNC Lathe machines for tasks such as turning, drilling, bar feeding, and live tooling. (Hyundai, Mori, Yugi, HAAS) - **Department Oversight:** Manage day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with timekeeping and performance management procedures. - **Employee Management:** Oversee employee performance, provide coaching and feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to support team development and productivity. - **Training & Development:** Assist with onboarding and training of new employees, as well as provide ongoing education and skill development for the team. - **Order Management:** Expedite and prioritize shop orders through the department to meet production schedules and customer requirements. - **Cross-Department Coordination:** Collaborate with management and other departments to ensure smooth manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly processes. - **Workplace Safety & Maintenance:** Ensure the team maintains machines and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized manner, addressing safety concerns promptly. - **Process Improvement:** Identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiencies and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. - **Problem-Solving:** Address and resolve production or personnel issues promptly to avoid disruptions to operations. - **Compliance:** Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and industry regulations. **What You'll Bring:** - **Supervisory Experience:** Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment. - **Technical Expertise:** Experience in CNC programming, CNC operation, and machining, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints. - **Leadership Skills:** Demonstrated ability to motivate, guide, and develop team members to achieve individual and collective goals. - Shop Floor Presence: Ability to maintain a consistent and active presence on the shop floor, spending approximately 2/3 of the shift overseeing operations. - **Communication Skills:** Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with shop employees, office staff, supervisors, managers, and executives. - **Adaptability:** Able to adjust to changing priorities and unexpected challenges while maintaining productivity and focus. - **Team Collaboration:** Excellent team player with the ability to work well with others and foster a collaborative and cooperative work environment. - **Safety Leadership:** Strong commitment to workplace safety, with a demonstrated ability to promote and enforce safety standards and practices. - **Performance Management:** Proficiency in performance management processes, including creating plans of action and conducting employee evaluations. - **Detail Orientation:** Highly detail-oriented, ensuring quality and precision in all tasks and responsibilities. - **Technical Proficiency:** Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software. - **Multi-Tasking:** Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively throughout the shift. - **Math Skills:** Average math skills, with the ability to read and comprehend written instructions in English and complete logs, documents, and reports accurately. **Your Schedule:** - 1st Shift, Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM To perform this job successfully, you must be able to report daily to the branch to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
