In this role, you’ll program, set up, and operate Okuma CNC equipment while working on challenging, close-tolerance components in a clean, team-oriented environment. If you enjoy solving machining problems, improving processes, and taking ownership of your work, we’d like to hear from you. **Responsibilities** - Create and edit CNC programs using CAM software and Okuma machine controls. - Set up, prove out, and operate Okuma CNC lathes and machining centers. - Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and job specifications. - Select tooling, establish offsets, and optimize feeds and speeds. - Design and build moderate fixtures and workholding as needed. - Set up and use complex fixtures for production machining. - Inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with quality standards and tight tolerances. - Determine machining methods, tooling, and sequence of operations for new jobs. - Complete required production and quality documentation. - Support and mentor less-experienced machinists and operators while maintaining high quality and productivity standards. **Qualifications** - 3+ years of CNC setup experience required; 4–8+ years preferred. - Experience programming and setting up CNC lathes and/or machining centers. - Okuma OSP control experience preferred. Candidates with strong Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Mori Seiki, or similar CNC experience are encouraged to apply. - Experience with CAM programming. - Ability to read complex blueprints and work with close tolerances. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. **** **Physical Requirements** - Ability to stand for extended periods. - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. - Good vision for inspection work and computer programming. **Work Environment** Our machine shop is clean, organized, well-lit, and climate-controlled.
