The successful candidate will set up and operate CNC grinding machines to manufacture high-precision carbide cutting tools to exact technical drawings and quality standards. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. **Key responsibilities** - Set up and operate CNC grinding machines in line with production priorities. - Interpret technical drawings, tool layouts, and specifications to produce accurate tool geometry. - Carry out in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards. - Adjust machine parameters and tooling to maintain consistency and reduce scrap. - Support machine maintenance, housekeeping, and safe working practices. - Record production data, issues, and improvement actions accurately. - Assist with new product introductions, trials, and prototypes. - Support and train less experienced team members where required. **Candidate profile** - Experience with CNC grinding, ideally including Rollomatic and/or ANCA machines. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tool blueprints, and geometric tolerances. - Knowledge of CNC programming and grinding software such as ToolRoom or VGPro. - Confident using precision inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, and optical measuring systems. - Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, quality-focused approach. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with high standards for accuracy and reliability. **Personal attributes** - Team-oriented and collaborative. - Accountable, dependable, and detail-driven. - Open to learning new technologies and adapting to changing production needs. - Clear communicator with a continuous improvement mindset. **What’s on offer** The role offers the opportunity to work with advanced grinding technology in a stable, quality-driven manufacturing environment, contributing directly to the production of precision tooling.
