Position Summary: The Hospice CNA-IPU (Certified Nurse Assistant � Inpatient Unit) works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient�s personal comfort needs at the unit. The CNA is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed. Hours: 7AM-7:30PM - Minimum (2) 12-hour Shifts/Month (Preferably more shifts if possible) Location: Barrington, IL. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: At least 18 years of age Certified by the state as a nurse aide List on the state aide registry with a clear record able to deliver care to patients Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given Understands hospice philosophy, comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill � Is self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision. Secure with issues of death/dying. Provides a calm manner on the unit and has empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impaired.
