## **CNA Homecare - Certified Nursing Assistant** **PRN Available** **Hourly Rate $16.00 - $17.00** ## **(Salary is based on FT/PT status and Yrs of Exp)** ## ***FLEXIBLE SCHEDULES AVAILABLE!*** ## **\*Be part of *a team where creating joy is the ultimate goal***, where an ***award-winning reputation*** is more than a feather in the cap it is a privilege and responsibility to uphold and where ***appreciation*** for a job well done is truly recognized and ***rewarded.*** ## **Benefits for Full-time Employees (30 hours + per week)** - Paid time off - Paid holidays - 401k (with match) - Medical, dental and vision insurance - Short and long-term disability - Life insurance **Benefits for All Employees (Full-time and Part-time)** - Heated, underground parking - Upscale employee break room - Employee referral awards - Employee Assistance Program - Uniforms provided ## **Job Responsibilities** **for CNA Homecare:** ## The Certified Nursing Assistant CNA Homecare is responsible for providing *one on one care,* direction and assistance with the activities of daily living and personal care necessary for each Member to remain as independent as possible. - Provides Members with the highest level of assistance with activities of daily living, such as personal care and oral hygiene. - Listens to Member and family concerns and initiates actions and communicates concerns and outcomes to the Nurse. - Interacts with Members and their families to build relationships, collect information that assists in meeting their personal needs, and ensure their satisfaction with the personal care services provided. - Assists with ambulation, transferring or transporting of Members (including pushing Members in wheelchairs) to the dining rooms, activities and/or various areas. - Communicates any change in Member condition to the Nurse immediately. - Assists with serving meals and beverages, supervising dining rooms during meal times to ensure Member safety. - Observes all facility safety policies and procedures. - Identifies safety hazards and emergency situations and resolves the issue immediately, reporting issue and outcome to the Nurse. - Observes infection control procedures. - Provides respect, privacy and dignity to all Garlands Members. - Maintains accurate records of each Members daily care on the appropriate documents, and in accordance with state and federal regulations. - Consistently works cooperatively with Members, Nurses, other department personnel, physicians, consultant personnel and ancillary service providers. - Comes to work in a clean neat uniform, and consistently presents a professional appearance. - Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality. **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities for CNA Homecare:** - Must have a current Illinois CNA Certificate - Experience working in assisted living, home health or long-term care environment preferred - High school diploma or its equivalent - Must possess, or be able to obtain current CPR certification - Must have an adequate understanding of English and be able to speak and write it - Must be able to work independently, as well as a team member, with a positive, pro-active attitude - Must be familiar with the Rights of the Resident, the definition of Resident Abuse, and the reporting protocol of possible Resident Abuse - Must be a flexible, **highly customer service and people oriented individual** who demonstrates compassion, patience and understanding, and is willing to do whatever it takes to provide the highest level of service - Must be able to manually lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently - Must be able to assist in transferring Members who weigh in excess of 50 lbs. occasionally - Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting, walking, bending and standing - Must be able to push Members in wheelchairs frequently for brief periods of time
