As a CE Technician, you will maintain, service and repair medical equipment by taking preventative measures, cleaning or adjusting pieces as needed. While you may not interact with patients directly, your efforts will leave a positive, lasting impression – from the moment they enter the facility to the time they return home. **A caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm, with rotating weekends after 90 days. No holidays required.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: - Provide routine and as needed clinical engineering services (repair, maintenance, relocation, installation, etc.) for equipment. - Maintain documentation of equipment, inventory, service and repairs. - Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: - High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining medical equipment or equipment in a mechanical or electrical technician field OR Associate’s Degree in Biomechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology OR equivalent specialized or military training. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: - Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET) - Associate’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology **Physical Requirements:** - Physical demands include ability to move 75 pounds; to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment. - Ability to work in prone positions and in confined, darkened areas. - Manual dexterity to use tools and work on small mechanical parts. - Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics. **Personal Protective Equipment:** - Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
