## Description ## Position Summary The Lab/Radiology Technician is responsible for the day-to-day Radiological Diagnostic Imaging, and Laboratory Testing of patients and related technical duties. The Technician is responsible for assisting the radiological and laboratory departments' quality assurance and improvement activities. Works closely with the clinic and medical staff. **POSITION SUMMARY EXPANDED:** Under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, (“The Unity Bill”) this position is considered a “Safety-sensitive position. “Safety-sensitive” is defined to include “any job that includes tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others.” Employees working in “safety-sensitive” roles are subject to this exception and subject to disciplinary action in the event of a positive test for marijuana or its metabolites. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITES** The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following areas: · Prepare and know the specific uses of radiological equipment and supplies used for imaging procedures on assigned patient. · Prepare and know the specific uses of laboratory equipment and supplies used for testing procedures on assigned patients. · Perform CLIA waived tests and Moderate Complexity tests. · Perform venipuncture and capillary collections. · Accountable for reporting to supervisors with problems or patient complaints and to initiate immediate steps to correct problems when appropriate. · Participate in staff meetings to share information about problem solving and to provide and receive feedback. · Apply the principles and values of customer service while performing daily activities of the position. · Accountable to assess monitor and report in a timely fashion unit/department activity required of position. · Assist in orienting new employees on clinical policies and procedures. Mentor and/or function as resources for all staff. · Initiate maintenance/repair requisitions for radiology or laboratory equipment used. Report to the Provider and supervisor for specific equipment to that clinic. · Utilize automated processes and clinical information systems appropriately and efficiently. · Display flexibility towards schedule changes, reassignment and assisting my employee in the clinic. · Perform related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position. **EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS** · High school diploma or equivalent. · Phlebotomy certification preferred. · Minimum of one to two years’ experience as Phlebotomist or Laboratory/Radiology Technician. · Previous experience in a clinical or urgent care setting is an asset. · Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures preferred. · Attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality. · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. ## Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) · Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies. · Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline. · Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols. · Commitment to excellence and high standards · Excellent written and oral communication skills · Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills · Ability to manage priorities and workflow · Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm · Acute attention to detail · Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees · Strong interpersonal skills. · Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions · Creative, flexible, and innovative team player ## Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an emplo…
