Climate Intern

Job Title: Climate Intern Department: San Diego Chapter Location: San Diego, CA Reports To: Deputy Chapter Director Supervises: N/A Duration: 15-20 hrs/week for 5 months Context: At the Sierra Club, we believe in the power of interdependence. By recognizing that our destinies are tied, we continue to name that all things are fundamentally connected, and the overlap between ecology, race, gender, and representative government will move to either advance our collective humanity or to oppress it. Sierra Club has close to 700 staff across the country and a network of 64 local chapters that are led and fueled by thousands of volunteers. We are also proud to be a unionized employer, with three labor unions representing more than half of our employees. Scope: This intern will support climate action, conservation, and grassroots organizing campaigns by assisting with community outreach, volunteer engagement, and advocacy initiatives. Intern will conduct policy and environmental research, developed educational and campaign materials, and helped organize public events, meetings, and volunteer activities. Collaborate with staff, community partners, and local stakeholders to advance environmental and chapter priorities, promote sustainable policies, and protect natural resources throughout the San Diego region. Assist with communications, data tracking, and campaign coordination to strengthen public engagement and support organizational goals.
