Join our Albany Plant team as a Class III Fabricator and help build custom, high-quality commercial air handlers from sheet metal. You’ll work with precision tools and advanced fabrication equipment in a clean, safety-focused environment. The successful candidate will contribute to the production of high-performance products that support Johnson Controls’ mission of creating smarter, healthier environments. **Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the Following:** - Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation. - Use a tape measure (1/32” accuracy) and protractor for precision. - Select, position, and secure tooling and fixtures onto machine. - Position and clamp stops, guides, and turntables. - Adjust controls to set and regulate machining factors such as pressure and depth of ram stroke, adjustment rolls, blade angle, and machine speed. - Locate and mark bending or cutting lines and reference points on workpiece. - Position workpiece against stops and guide or align layout marks with dies or cutting blades. - Start machine and observe machine operation to reposition workpiece, change dies, or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes. - Inspect and/or measure work. - Label parts and move them to proper storage location. - Document deviations from prints or specifications and take appropriate corrective action. - Perform all Class I and II jobs. - Other duties may be assigned. **Qualifications** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience - High school diploma or GED preferred Language Ability - Ability to read and comprehend the English language – this includes simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos (i.e. safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, shop-floor paperwork, and procedure manuals) - Ability to write simple correspondence - Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization Math Ability - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals - Ability to compute rate and percent and interpret bar graphs Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form - Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Computer Skills - Basic computers skills required Certificates & Licenses - Operating a fork truck is essential function and operator must be licensed by the Company before operating a fork truck Supervisory Responsibilities…
