Class A Safety Driver

Kodiak Robotics, Inc. was founded in 2018 and has become a leader in autonomous ground transportation committed to a safer and more efficient future for all. The company has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) powered technology stack purpose-built for commercial trucking and the public sector. The company delivers freight daily for its customers across the southern United States using its autonomous technology. In 2024, Kodiak became the first known company to publicly announce delivering a driverless semi-truck to a customer. Kodiak is also leveraging its commercial self-driving software to develop, test and deploy autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense. We are looking for experienced commercial semi truck drivers to help us test our autonomous technology. Our office is centrally located in Mountain View, CA The hourly pay for this full-time position in California is $55.00/hour + bonus + equity + benefits. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. In this role, you will: Operate our self-driving semi trucks on public roads. Complete driving reports and tests in order to provide essential feedback to the engineering team. Safely operate company vehicles as an essential function of the position Maintain a clean driving record that meets requirements for coverage under the company's auto insurance policy. Qualifications: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) 3+ years of commercial driving experience with a clean driving record Great communication skills Flexibility to regularly work day, night, and/or weekend shifts Travel is required Meet all DOT requirements No criminal history Local candidates preferred The pay range listed below reflects the base salary in our SF/Silicon Valley location, across several internal levels. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors including: work location, experience, relevant training, education, skill level and performance during interview.
