Children's Center Assistant Classroom Teacher

The NIC Children’s Center is seeking an **Assistant Classroom Teacher** who is passionate about early childhood development and creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children. In this role, you will work closely with the Classroom Teacher to support children's growth and development through hands-on learning experiences, play-based activities, and individualized care. You will assist with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, support children in meeting their daily needs, and help create a classroom environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to learn. You will contribute to observing and documenting children's progress, assisting with assessments and goal setting, maintaining accurate records, and building positive relationships with families through daily communication. Collaboration is an important part of this role, as you will work alongside colleagues, volunteers, community partners, and student employees to provide high-quality early childhood education and care. Working towards completing an Associate's degree or Applied Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent defined as at least 60 college/university credits with at least 30 college credits in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development (CD), EIElementary Education (ElEd), or Early Childhood Special Education) plus a minimum of six months related experience is required. On-going education toward an Associate’s Degree is required, with a completion deadline within 18 months.
