Join our team, and you will be challenged creatively and provided opportunities allowing your career to grow with you. **Job Summary** The Chemical Operator needs knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. **Current openings include:** 1 day shift position: Tuesday - Friday 6:00AM - 4:30PM 1 night shift position: Monday - Thursday 4:00PM - 2:30AM Both positions qualify for a $2,000 sign-on bonus **Essential Responsibilities** - Safely operate equipment, including start up, shut down, and change out of product. Equipment operated may include, but is not limited: to reactors, tanks, conveyors, forklift, pallet jack. - Cut open bags to make batches. - Charge raw materials as per batch steps. - Monitor and adjust controls to regulate tank and reactor levels, temperature, and pressure. - Record detailed and accurate reactor conditions on batch sheet. - Package final product in bags, drums, or supersacks as per customer and company guidelines. - Move product bags and drums manually and/or with a forklift. - Ability to operate a forklift. - Work within confined spaces to change filter cartridges and bags while adhering to OSHA standards. - Comply with lock out/tag out procedures. - Perform routine housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work station. - Observe safety precautions to prevent chemical reactions. Report product and machine malfunctions to supervisor immediately. - Other duties as assigned based on customer and company needs. **Required Qualifications** - 3 to 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. - Chemical and/or Powder Machine Operator experience preferred. - Ability to operate a forklift. - High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. - Basic mathematical calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. - Ability to manually lift, push and move up to 50 lbs. throughout shift. - Must be able to complete a medical evaluation by a physician that certifies the ability to wear a respirator. - Able to wear a negative-pressure elastomeric seal respirator - Ability to work within an environment that requires bending, stooping, climbing, pushing/pulling, reaching (at or above shoulder height), twisting at the waist. - Ability to work in an environment with the following conditions; chemical and mechanical operations, confined spaces, dust and fumes, working within safe but proximity to forklift and machine operations, exposure to heat and humidity, hearing or talking around loud machinery, and wearing personal protective equipment.
