The Charge Nurse is responsible for administering or assisting residents with self-administration of medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs, communicating with physicians, implementing physician orders, and ensuring compliance with health protocols. Additionally, this role supervises Resident Assistants and acts as the community supervisor in the absence of management staff. If you are looking for a meaningful career where you can make a difference in the lives of seniors, we encourage you to apply today! **Key Responsibilities:** - Maintain confidentiality of resident, employee, and community information. - Submit all required documents to the Home Office in a timely manner. - Administer or assist residents in self-administering medications and treatments. - Measure vital signs and weight, and collect and transport specimens for laboratory studies. - Adhere to medication room protocols and community policies. - Communicate effectively with physicians and implement physician orders. - Ensure all physician orders, lab reports, and pertinent documents are properly recorded and stored. - Document resident information in progress notes per policy guidelines. - Follow home health, hospice, and emergency protocols, including administering CPR and first aid when necessary. - Act as a community supervisor when management staff is unavailable. - Supervise Resident Assistants and ensure completion of their daily duties. - Assist in the development and revision of service plans by collaborating with Resident Care Managers. - Observe and report resident concerns to the Resident Care Managers. - Maintain accurate shift communication logs and inter-shift reports. **Qualifications:** - Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. - Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. - Active LVN license. - Current CPR, HCP, and Basic First Aid certifications. - Successful completion of a Criminal Record check with Vulnerable Sector and Adult Abuse Registry check (within the past 12 months). - Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines. **About Brightwater Senior Living:** Brightwater Senior Living Group is a trusted leader in senior living management across North America.
