Applicants from traditionally underrepresented populations including women, racial and ethnic minorities, and persons with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply. **DEFINITION** Under general supervision of the Director of Nursing Services or Nurse Manager, and the detailed direction and task delegation of a Registered Nurse (RN), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) provide a safe environment, assist with activities of daily living per individualized care plans, and provide physical and psychosocial support to Badger Prairie Health Care Center (BPHCC) residents. CNAs work cooperatively with nursing staff and support services to meet the objectives and philosophy of the facility; and perform related work as required. **NOTE:** Employees’ work will not be overseen by an RN who is their relative, domestic partner or roommate. To avoid this, the employee will be assigned to the oversight of a different RN, change in work hours/shift and/or work location. **EXAMPLES OF DUTIES** Provide direct resident care by relating and participating therapeutically with residents during interactions in recreational, social and rehabilitative activities, serving as a role model at all times. Teach and otherwise assist residents to develop skills in daily living activities. Assist in admitting, orienting, and discharging residents. Escort residents to activities and appointments. Help maintain a clean and safe environment. Chart accurately and in a timely manner. Observe and report resident status, changes in condition and progress to the immediate supervisor. Attend in-services and share information to assist others with gaining knowledge. Actively participate in staff and group meetings as a member of the treatment team. Maintain confidentiality of resident treatment and records. Promote physical and emotional wellness. Consistently advocate for residents' rights. Contribute to plan of care and basic treatment of resident on interdisciplinary goals and understanding rationale for care.May care for residents who have infectious pathogens. **Education, Training and Experience:** Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to High School graduation. Must also possess at least one year of current and relevant experience employed as a regularly scheduled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent providing care for persons with developmental disabilities, mental illness and/or dementia within the last three (3) years. **Certifications/Licenses:** Must be federally certified and able to work in the State of Wisconsin. Currently on the Federal Nurse Aide Registry (inclusion on Home Health, Hospice or Hospital Registry only is not sufficient.) **Special Requirements:** Must have a valid driver’s license, or access to reliable personal transportation, or equivalent.
