Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Same Day Surgery

The purpose of this position is to provide nursing care to patients through communication, clerical duties, and transcription of orders. The CNA reports directly to the Unit Department Director, Nursing Shift Supervisor or RN. The CNA has contact with patients, patient families and visitors, LRH employees, referral agencies, volunteers, administration, and physicians. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this position. The CNA must be able to secure cooperation from others, problem-solve, exercise initiative and judgement, and have above average communication skills. This position requires current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months. To perform in this position satisfactory, a high school education or equivalent degree is preferred. Previous medical terminology/work desirable.
