*GiaCare Inc. is accepting applications from Certified Athletic Trainers for a future opportunity supporting the Human Performance (VIPER II) program at Joint Base San Antonio. This position supports the 37th Training Wing by helping prevent, evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate musculoskeletal injuries while optimizing the performance of Air Force trainees.* ## About the Opportunity As a Certified Athletic Trainer, you'll work directly with Air Force trainees in both clinical and field environments, collaborating with Sports Medicine Physicians and Human Performance staff to prevent injuries, provide rehabilitation, and improve overall mission readiness. This is an active role that extends beyond the clinic and may include coverage during physical training, field exercises, and training events. ## Schedule - Full-Time - Monday-Friday - Typical duty hours: **5:30 AM to 2:30 PM** - Mission requirements may require schedule adjustments - Flexible schedule based on training events - Up to 10 consecutive hours per day (including a one-hour lunch) - Maximum 40 hours per week - No routine on-call - Federal holidays observed (excluding AETC Family Days) ## Responsibilities - Evaluate, prevent, treat, and rehabilitate musculoskeletal injuries. - Perform emergency injury evaluations and first aid. - Develop rehabilitation and injury prevention programs. - Design strength and conditioning programs to reduce injury risk. - Provide therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, taping, bracing, and therapeutic modalities. - Educate Air Force trainees on injury prevention, recovery, hydration, and performance optimization. - Document all patient encounters in the electronic health record within required timelines. - Participate in performance improvement initiatives and research activities. - Provide medical coverage during training events and physical fitness activities. - Work collaboratively with Sports Medicine Physicians and Human Performance personnel. ## Minimum Qualifications - U.S. Citizen - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Education Program - Current, full, active, unrestricted Texas Athletic Trainer license - Current NATABOC (or NATA) certification - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or American Red Cross, in-person) - If holding a **Master's degree**, minimum **1 year** of experience diagnosing, treating, and preventing musculoskeletal injuries in a high school, collegiate, professional, or military setting. - If holding a **Bachelor's degree**, minimum **3 years** of experience diagnosing, treating, and preventing musculoskeletal injuries in a high school, collegiate, professional, or military setting. ## Preferred Qualifications - Military or tactical athlete experience - Sports medicine experience - Experience working with large group conditioning programs - Experience in injury prevention and rehabilitation - Strong communication and leadership skills ## Why GiaCare? *GiaCare is dedicated to supporting our nation's military by connecting exceptional healthcare professionals with military treatment facilities throughout the United States.
