Position Summary: The CBO Specialist Lead (Payment Posting Team Lead) is responsible for overseeing internal payment posting teams and external vendor partners to ensure the accurate and timely posting of insurance and patient payments. This role serves as the subject matter expert for payment posting processes, including EOB interpretation, payment application, contractual adjustments, and denial identification. The Team Lead monitors team performance, supports operational excellence, and drives process improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, accuracy, and overall revenue cycle performance. Remote Role Must have Leadership Experience and Dental Insurance Experience. Preference will be given to those with previous experience in similar role. Must be tech-savvy with experience in process improvement and automation. SALARY: $22.50-$23.50 per hour Position Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee accurate and timely posting of insurance and patient payments, EOBs/ERAs, and adjustments to patient accounts. Manage unapplied/unidentified cash and resolve posting discrepancies, variances, and credit balances. Monitor payment batch reconciliation against bank deposits to ensure all funds are posted and balanced daily (or weekly). Identify denial and underpayment trends from posted EOBs and route them to the appropriate AR team. Manage the internal/external vendor relationship operationally: SLA adherence, error rates, escalation handling. The summary mentions vendor oversight but no duty backs it up. Qualifications: Demonstrates ability to interpret, reconcile, and clearly communicate insurance payments, adjustments, and related financial transactions to diverse audiences Previous management experience of a team with 10 or less employees ERA/835 and EFT experience, and familiarity with clearinghouse workflows. Understanding of payment posting accuracy/QA standards and reconciliation. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and professional manner Proven ability to facilitate effective training sessions across multiple formats, including telephone, Microsoft Teams, and in-person environments Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement timely solutions Highly organized with keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of work Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment, effectively managing shifting priorities and competing demands while maintaining productivity Skilled in prioritization and workload management, with the ability to develop and execute actionable plans that align with departmental objectives and deadlines Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products, Education and Experience Requirements: HS Diploma required; higher degree preferred. Minimum three-five years commercial insurance or Medicaid experience preferred. Experience in dental practice or billing environment preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years leadership experience Computer Skills: Proficiency in a Microsoft Windows environment. Proficiency with dental software; Dentrix preferred.
