- ## Description - Position Title: Admin & Fiscal Support Sp (International Program and Compliance Assistant) Position Number: CASUAL Hiring Unit: Office of Global Engagement, International Student Services (ISS) Location: UH Manoa Date Posted: July 15, 2026 Closing Date: Continuous recruitment until position is filled; application first review to begin approximately around July 31, 2026 Salary : $26.69 per hour (Commensurate with qualifications and experience) Full Time/Part Time: Full Time Temporary/Permanent: Temporary **Other Conditions:** Employment will be contingent upon clearance of a Criminal History Background Check to comply with Code of Federal Regulations required for employees functioning as an Alternate Responsible Officer for the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program is a condition of employment & continued employment. Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University Hawai'i may apply for Casual Hire positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part­ time employees. **Duties and Responsibilities** 1. \*Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) and/ or Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for F-1 and J-1 programs (training provided) to facilitate federal reporting mandates and maintain the university’s institutional standing with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of State (DOS). 2. \*Assist with the full lifecycle of immigration documents and routine immigration services, including processing I-20/DS-2019 forms, travel signatures, Student and Exchange Visitor Immigration System-SEVIS check-ins, and program extensions under supervision. 3. \*Support compliance through data entry, batch processing, and reconciling records across university systems and federal databases. 4. \*Keeps abreast of changes/updates on federal regulations; handle routine immigration inquiries via email, chat, and in-person, while referring complex matters to senior advising staff. 5. \*Coordinate logistics and execution for international student programs, including pre-arrival sessions, Welcome Week, orientation, and cultural adjustment initiatives (e.g., Summer Socials and holiday events). 6. \*Supports career programming and workshops tailored to international student success and well-being. Collaborate with campus partners to develop specialized workshops on U.S. work authorization (Curricular Practical Training- CPT, Optional Practical Training - OPT, Academic Training-AT), job search strategies for international students, and professional networking. 7. \*Assist with the recruitment, training, and oversight of student assistants and interns in collaboration with senior staff. 8. \*Serve as a liaison to international student organizations and manage digital engagement, including newsletters, social media, and website updates, to ensure students remain informed of critical deadlines and campus opportunities 9. \*Provides front desk coverage and general office support, including recordkeeping, scheduling, and student referrals to campus partners. 10. \*Participates in team meetings and contributes to initiatives that improve office workflows and campus internationalization. 11. \*Assists with special projects as assigned. 12.
