## Description **Cashier duties and responsibilities** - Process sales transactions - Calculate the cost of products or services - Accept payments - Calculate and return change when required by the payment method - Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change - Answer customer questions about products or services - Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts - Report issues with equipment - Work as a team to meet sales goals - Handle customer complains - Assist in stocking and rotating merchandise - Stay up to date on merchandise promotions, advertisements and product information - Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders - Preparing and serving beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate ones - Preparing and serving food items such as soups, sandwiches and pastries - Answering customers’ questions about menu choices - Promoting and recommending menu options to customers - Taking payment from customers - Keeping the work environment sanitary and organized - Evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality of service - Working to attract new customers and expanding the menu - Must provide current food handlers certificate
