**About GreyZone Health** GreyZone Health is a professional patient advocacy practice specializing in complex, rare, and diagnostically challenging medical conditions. We partner with clients and families to achieve diagnostic clarity, coordinate multi-specialty care, and navigate the healthcare system with clinical expertise and compassion. As we expand, we are seeking two experienced clinicians for part-time Care Advocate roles. **Position Overview** GreyZone Care Advocates serve as the lead clinical strategist and point of contact for a small caseload of medically complex clients. Each Advocate functions as the project manager of their client's case, driving the diagnostic and care coordination strategy, keeping the big picture in view, and managing and executing on the day-to-day tasks required to move a case forward. Advocates work in close, continuous collaboration with the rest of the GreyZone team, who supplement and support their work across nursing, physician advisory, and administrative functions. This is fundamentally a team-based practice built on teamwork. No Advocate carries a case alone: cases are discussed, cross-checked, and advanced collaboratively, and Advocates are expected to communicate proactively with colleagues and leadership throughout the engagement. **Our Approach to Diagnostic Advocacy** GreyZone employs a refined, systematic methodology for complex diagnostic cases developed over years of practice. We seek Advocates who are curious, open to learning, and committed to applying our established workflows while integrating their clinical expertise. This role suits clinicians eager to enhance a proven process. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES **Clinical Strategy & Case Leadership** - Lead assigned cases by integrating clinical history, records, and provider input into clear diagnostic or care plans. - Manage ambiguity with a hypothesis-driven approach, leveraging team expertise to overcome obstacles. - Coordinate across specialties, ensuring accurate and timely execution while maintaining overall case strategy. - Assess clients' physical and psychological well-being and adjust advocacy plans accordingly. **Client & Provider Engagement** - Review medical records and engage clients/families to understand health status, goals, and needs. - Coordinate and attend provider visits and procedures remotely or in person, as necessary. - Collaborate with treating providers and make referrals or recommendations when needed. - Build trust through compassionate communication, ensuring clients understand options and receive clear summaries. **Documentation & Team Collaboration** - Document advocacy work thoroughly using standardized digital tools and provide timely updates. - Deliver regular progress reports to clients and leadership following team schedules. - Work closely with advocates and advisors to verify clinical decisions and share case responsibilities. - Track case progress, address barriers, and escalate issues to leadership with full accountability. IDEAL BACKGROUND & CLINICAL EXPERTISE We are looking for seasoned clinicians with the judgment to lead a complex case and the humility to work as part of a team. Ideal backgrounds include: - Registered Nurse (RN), Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (ARNP/DNP/NP), Physician Assistant (PA), Physician (MD/DO), or Physical Therapist (PT/DPT). - Clinical specialty experience in neurology strongly preferred; additional experience in immunology/rheumatology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, or cardiology is a plus. - Prior experience with diagnostically complex, multisystem, or rare disease cases. - Independent practice, case/care management, or professional patient advocacy experience is highly desirable. CORE COMPETENCIES - Coachable and process-oriented: eager to learn and apply GreyZone’s diagnostic advocacy workflows using clinical expertise. - Comfortable with ambiguity and diagnostic uncertainty, able to start strategic work without predefined answers. - Resourceful and…
