This role is ideal for a technician who is detail-oriented, communicative, and excited to grow their technical skills while working alongside experienced clinicians and board-certified specialists. **What You’ll Do** - Provide nursing care for specialty patients within Cardiology - Assist with diagnostics, treatments, procedures, and patient monitoring - Support advanced case management for medically complex and specialty patients - Place and maintain IV catheters and other supportive devices as indicated - Collect and process diagnostic samples accurately and efficiently - Administer medications and treatments as directed - Assist with sedation and anesthesia monitoring as appropriate to department needs - Support patient comfort, safety, and advocacy throughout treatment and hospitalization - Communicate clearly with doctors and team members to support high-quality patient care - Maintain accurate and timely medical records - Support client education and communication in partnership with the clinical team - Support a collaborative, respectful, and team-oriented work environment **Schedule** - Typical schedule: - 4 x 10-hour shifts - Schedule structure may vary based on department placement - Weekend and holiday rotation may apply depending on department needs **Compensation** - $22.50–$33.00/hour - Compensation is based on experience, technical skill level, and hospital leveling criteria **Requirements** Required: - Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license - Active registration with DORA - Ability to work in a fast-paced specialty and emergency hospital environment - Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills Preferred: - 3+ years of experience as an RVT, ideally in specialty medicine - Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (AS/BS/BA) - BLS and/or ALS CPR certification Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in Cardiology specialty strongly preferred (will be compensated more) **Why EVS?** Evolution Veterinary Specialists is a privately owned, AAHA-accredited specialty and emergency hospital in Lakewood, Colorado.
