## Description # General Job Brief The Campus Safety Unarmed Guard (CSUG) position maintains high visibility on campus promoting lawful behavior and protecting the welfare of students, faculty, and staff as a uniformed presence on campus. CSUG perform routine safety patrols, responds to calls for service, and critical incidents on campus. CSUG provide escort services to students, staff, and guests. CSUG investigate incidents that occur on campus, complete incident reports, and daily logs of the duties performed during their shift. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to security and guest services at athletic and special events, traffic control, parking enforcement, etc. The CSUG reports directly to the lead guard or supervisor on duty. This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship. **Typical Duties** **DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES** - Pass annual continuing education classes related to campus safety, OSHA, etc. - Perform a variety of duties; campus crime prevention, parking enforcement, crowd and traffic control, administrative duties, etc. - Provides escort services for students, staff, faculty, adjunct, and guests as necessary - Provides other assistance duties; lockout services, jump-starts, directions, etc. - Provide a uniform presence while patrolling the University’s grounds during day to day operations, athletic events, special events, etc. - Provide a rapid and tactical response to critical incidents - General leadership to student guards and University Intern Guards - Respond to and investigate all calls for service and take the appropriate action - Examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure all are secured - Use University keys to open and close buildings - Monitor security cameras - Prepare timely written reports, logs, and briefings to the on duty supervisor and Chief of Campus Safety regarding critical incidents or other incidents related to the Clery or Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Acts - Serves as a Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act. - A CSA is an individual, who by virtue of their university responsibilities and under the Clery Act is designated to receive and report criminal incidents. - Enforce University policies and report criminal acts to local law enforcement - Report unsafe conditions, hazards, and safety issues via chain of command - Assist law enforcement and emergency service as needed - Performs periodic checks of emergency call boxes and/or street lights to ensure proper functioning; reports malfunctions as required. - Conduct crime prevention inspections around campus while unlocking and locking doors - Provide spiritual support and prayer to students and staff **Other Duties and Responsibilities** - Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed, and not necessarily mentioned in this description, will be expected. - Commitment to the University’s faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith. - Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff. - The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings. - Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually. # Skills, Knowledge, Abilities - Effectively communicate both orally and in writing - Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to serve our students, staff, faculty adjun…
