Don’t miss this opportunity!** **Apply now to secure your job for the summer!** ## Description The Camp Activity Specialist (**Archery**) plays a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and inclusive camp environment for children. These seasonal positions leads specialized activities both indoors and outdoors across a variety of disciplines, including Arts & Crafts (STEAM), Archery, Sports & Recreation, Music, and Fishing. The CMPACT engages campers in hands-on learning, skill-building, and creative exploration while supporting the YMCA’s mission to strengthen communities and foster personal growth. **Specialty Areas:** - **Archery Specialist:** Facilitate safe, educational, and enjoyable archery programs while teaching proper techniques and safety protocols. **Key Responsibilities:** - Plan, lead, and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities in assigned specialty areas. - Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all campers. - Foster creativity, teamwork, and positive interactions among campers and staff. - Follow YMCA policies, procedures, and safety guidelines for all activities, including outdoor programs. - Collaborate with fellow counselors and camp leadership to enhance the overall camp experience. - Communicate effectively with campers, families, and camp staff regarding activity goals, schedules, and camper progress. ## Requirements - Experience working with children or leading activities in a camp, educational, or recreational setting. - Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. - Ability to plan and facilitate safe, engaging indoor and outdoor activities. - Positive role model with adaptability, creativity, and a strong commitment to youth development. - Must be safety-conscious and able to respond quickly in emergencies. - Current First Aid/CPR/AED certifications or willingness to obtain before camp. - Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs as needed. - Completion of all required trainings prior to the start of camp. ### **S****pecialty Skills:** - **Archery:** Knowledge of archery safety and instruction.
