About the job The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of the camera actuator control system’s calibration and validation strategies from the component to system level. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define relevant figures of merits and to assess their user impact for both production and new technology cameras. Formulate and validate new metrology, taking into account the factory/lab capability and throughput. Write clear documentation for engineering and test requirements. Collaborate with the vendors to understand their current capabilities and drive them for improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure correct factory implementation of tests and calibrations, thoroughly reviewing the factory data. Propose meaningful spec limits, taking into account assembly tolerance and metrology limitations.
