## Description **Position Summary:** Are you friendly, dependable, and enjoy working in a fast-paced food service environment? We’re looking for a Cafeteria Worker to join our team! In this role, you’ll help prepare and serve meals, operate the point-of-sale system, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming cafeteria for employees and visitors. You’ll also support daily operations by stocking snacks and beverages, assisting with food prep, and providing excellent customer service during meal breaks. **Responsibilities:** • Prepare daily food items and assist the Team Leader with tasks such as cutting produce, baking, frying, and setting up wells using proper safety and sanitation practices • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures • Assemble grab-and-go items such as parfaits, fruit cups, sandwiches, and salads • Keep the kitchen and cafeteria clean and organized, including running the dish machine, wiping down counters and coolers, sweeping, and mopping • Ensure adequate quantities of food are available for each break without excessive waste • Assist with putting away deliveries, managing waste, restocking supplies, and noting items that need to be reordered • Communicate with customers regarding orders, questions, and concerns • Serve customers during meal breaks in a courteous, efficient manner • Accept payment and make accurate change using the point-of-sale system • Count the register at the beginning and end of shift and provide reports and funds to the Accounting Department **Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:** Candidates must already possess—or be willing to learn—the following: • Basic understanding of food preparation and safe cooking practices • Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation standards • Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude • Basic math skills • Effective time-management skills, especially during busy meal periods • Ability to stand for extended periods • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally * * * ### **Working Hours:** • Day shift, Monday through Friday • Occasional half-day Saturday • Full-time and part-time opportunities available * * * **What We Offer** **Time Off & Holidays** - 15+ days of paid vacation annually, with accrual beginning on Day 1 - 8.5 paid holidays **Retirement Plans** - No-cost Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) - 401(k) with company match up to 4% **Insurance & Care** - Affordable health, dental, vision, life, and pet insurance - No-cost long-term disability insurance - Free on-site medical care & counseling services **On-Site Perks** - Fitness center with trainer, classes, and wellness programs - Cafeteria serving breakfast & lunch - Employee product discounts **Professional Growth** - Tuition assistance - Strong promote-from-within culture * * * **About Showplace** Showplace Cabinetry is an **employee-owned cabinetry manufacturer** with facilities in Harrisburg and Beresford, SD.
